It seems everyone wants to be a freelancer; everyone wants a little piece of that dream of making money online.
I have seen so many books, articles, and seminars on how you can become free and make money online as a freelancer. The question that most people fail to ask and answer is can I make money online as a freelancer?
The truth is that anyone can make money online, but not everyone makes money online. So before you quit your job or decide to focus on career online, ensure you know all that it takes to make money online.
How I Started Online
I will not come here and tell you a rosy story that I am a successful freelancer, but I have progressed over the years.Like most other freelancers, that saw it as a way to make ends meet; it has become a career. And this is the plain truth; most successful freelancers are not freelancer by choice but by necessity.
They had the skills and passion for what they are doing and used it to earn some money by the way. Either they started freelancing because of no job or to help them substantiate their meager income.
So the first lesson here is to have the appropriate skills and passion for what you want to do. Writing and reading was a passion, I didn't go to the school of writing or earn a degree, but because of the zeal, I developed myself with online tools and course and was able to give my client what they wanted.
As a freelancer, there are many things you can do to make money like photography, writing, teaching or even reading. Avoid the mistake of copying someone and find yourself and make some money from what you love.
You Can Never Be Rich as a Freelancer
If you think freelancing is the best way to become rich, then this is the best time to quit and look for something else. It's a big turn off whenever I see bolder headlines like "Quit Your Day Job and Get Rich Freelancing," "Become Your Boss Today."You are your boss when you get someone to pay you $10 in one hour. Freelancing requires hard work and time, and for you to be rich, you have to invest your money and time wisely.
Make money freelancing and invest them wisely. Freelancing does not have an insurance plan for retirement nor does it guarantee you a regular income and its becoming difficult securing jobs as it gets saturated.
You can make money as a freelancer, but you become rich investing your money and time wisely.
Can You Take the Pressure
Can you make money from your hobby and is freelancing about fun as you earn money. As I said, I like reading and writing, but it's different when you are being paid to write about something entirely.First, there is the pressure of giving the client what they want and not just what you feel like writing.
There is no fun in it when you have to meet up on deadline or have to write on something you have no interest.
In the end, freelancing is not just about earning money from your hobby. Freelancing is work, and you have to satisfy your client. No one is going to pay you if you do not give them what they want.
So before you think about becoming a freelancer, get it tight that it is required work and not a get rich quick scheme. You have to upgrade your skills regularly
