what up with the war

For the past days now CNN had been reporting what is happening in Israel and Gaza, the series of bombing and the effect on lives and properties. I have known this war to be going on for a very long time and I get to wonder if this people had ever known peace and even if they want peace. Its human nature to fight for his/her right and when it feels that its space is being invaded, but it gets to a point when the fight had gone on for so long, one forget what he is fighting for and all you want to do is defeat or hurt your enemy at all cost because you have grown to hate them so much. In my country we have a saying that when two elephant fight, it’s the grass that suffers the most. If the leaders of this nation really care about this people I think they should take a much diplomatic step to solve their differences and compromise a little. When two strong head people collide with each one refusing to compromise, then we can expect destruction. This Israeli- Gaza war is the kind of war common in our everyday life between couple, friends, business associate.
We get into a dispute, refuse to compromise and let the war go on even long after we have forgotten what caused the dispute in the first place, and full with some much hate for each other leaving no room for compromise. This kind of dispute has its own collateral damages- on the children, our social life, performance at work, our productivity. And all that is left is we hurting each other and the people around us.

I believe as human, we should put understanding first. We all have our different opinion, different background, different religion but if we try to understand each other and our way of life and see things from a different perspective, then we can understand where our fellow human being is coming from and maybe then we can compromise a little.
We should be try to be understanding and learn to embrace peace and love.
